Where do you perform weddings?

I perform weddings within a 60 (sixty) mile radius of Springfield. Special arrangements can be made for venues further than 60 miles.

Who are you ordained by?

I am ordained by the American Marriage Ministries (aam.org) and recognized as legally permitted to perform weddings by the State of Missouri under Statute 451.100 (Marriages solemnized by Whom).

Can we personalize our ceremony?

Absolutely! I want to meet you and your partner and get to know you so I can make the ceremony personal. You can also add or remove any part of the ceremony.

I don't want to mention (God, religion, anything spiritual, etc.) in my ceremony. Is that OK?

Of course. I come from a non-religious standpoint and I want you to be absolutely at ease with your ceremony.

Do you perform same-sex weddings?

Yes. I firmly believe in same-sex marriage.

Can we involve children in the wedding?

Definitely.

How long is the ceremony?

The ceremony generally lasts 15-20 minutes.

Can we write our own vows?

Certainly.

Do we get to meet you before the wedding?

Yes, that is part of my process of making sure that you get the ceremony you want. I can meet with you and your partner days, evenings or weekends to get to know you better. The meeting usually takes place at a local coffee shop and lasts 20-30 minutes.

What kind of ceremonies do you perform?

I perform civil and non-faith based ceremonies where the main focus is the love that is shared between you and your partner.

How much do you charge for travel?  If the wedding is outside the Springfield metro area, I charge the IRS rate of $.54/mile.

Will you come to the wedding rehearsal?

For an additional fee of $40 plus travel fees, I will attend and/or conduct your rehearsal.

Do you perform elopements?  Yes!  Just you and your partner and two witnesses for $100 if more than 48 hours notice.  $200 with 48 hours or less

How much do you charge for weddings?

I charge $165 to: meet with you as a couple; write your ceremony with your input; arrive early on your Wedding Day; perform your ceremony; and mail the marriage license. If the wedding is farther than 20 miles outside of Springfield, I charge a $.54/mile fee. (The IRS rate).

Do you perform Vow Renewal ceremonies?

Yes! For a $100 fee, I will meet with you and your partner, write your ceremony with your input, and perform your ceremony.

Do you stay for the reception?

If invited, I will stay based on my availability. However, I do feel this is a time for you to share with family and friends.

Do we need witnesses?

Yes. The State of Missouri requires that you have two witnesses.

Do you offer a military discount? 

Yes.  I offer $25 off the total price for each active or retired service member.

Do we need to pay a retainer?

Yes. I ask for $75 (non-refundable) to hold your wedding date.

I know we tip other vendors, but what about Officiants?

Gratuities are never expected by are always greatly appreciated.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, personal check and Paypal (through www.laurenweds.com)

When is my payment due?

I ask for $75 (non-refundable) retainer the day we meet and the balance is due one week prior to the ceremony.

We're already married, but no one knows. Can you still perform a ceremony?

Your secret is safe with me. I just need to see a copy of your marriage license.

How much advance notice do I need to give before booking an officiant?

Dates book up quickly. Try to contact an officiant at least six months before your wedding date.

Do you have your own microphone and amp?

No.  It is the Couple's responsibility to provide sound either through a DJ or the Wedding Venue.
